NEWS OF THE STAGE; Antoinette Perry Heads Experimental Theatre; New Group to Encourage Actors and Playwrights
Date: 29 January 1941
Antoinette Perry, who in recent years has done much to encourage young stage talent, has been named president of the Experimental Theatre, Inc., it was announced yesterday. The ETI was founded by the Dramatists Guild and the Actors Equity Association to afford young dramatists and performers an opportunity to exhibit their wares in public performances.
NEWS OF THE STAGE; 'Crazy With the Heat' Resumes Its Career Tonight at the 44th Street -- Openings in Week of Feb. 10

"Crazy With the Heat," the revue which ran for only seven performances, will have another opportunity of showing its mettle this evening at the Forty-fourth Street Theatre. Since the show closed on Jan. 18 there has been extensive overhauling under guidance of Ed Sullivan, Broadway columnist, who has undertaken the management of the show, and Lew Brown, who is responsible for the "reconstruction" of the sketches and the comedy lines.
