Brawley Case Details Sought

LEAD: The New York Daily News asked the State Supreme Court in Manhattan Friday to force a special prosecutor, Charles J. Hynes, to disclose details of his inquiry into the source of a disclosure to The New York Times in the Tawana Brawley case last year. Mr. Hynes said in January that he could not establish how The Times obtained summaries of evidence in the case.

LEAD: The Dataproducts Corporation, a manufacturer of computer printers, instructed its investment banking firm, Goldman, Sachs & Company, to seek a buyer for the company. Dataproducts, which has annual sales of about $345 million, said it had not made a final decision to sell the company but that it believed it could obtain the best value for its shareholders by putting itself up for sale.

Halt at Ford Plant

LEAD: The Ford Motor Company said that it had interrupted production at an assembly plant this week, its first such shutdown in years. Bert Serre, a spokesman for Ford, said the plant, in Hermosillo, Mexico, would resume production of the Mercury Tracer subcompact on Monday. The car had been accumulating on dealers' lots, a rare problem for Ford, which for years has produced all the cars it could and sold all that it produced.
